Playful pattern and farmhouse warmth shape this modern family retreat.
Playful pattern, outdoor influence, and spaces that grow with a family.
Project Overview

Designed with a young, active family in mind, this 2,053-square-foot single-family home was curated to support everyday functionality alongside moments of creativity and personality. The Riverbend model balances open shared spaces with flexible private rooms, creating a layout that works seamlessly for family life and hosting guests.

The builder’s vision focused on designing for a young family with strong ties to outdoor living, drawing inspiration from the home’s proximity to the Cape Fear River and Raven State Park. That intent is reflected through a lively yet cohesive interior, where playful wallpaper, layered patterns, and a mix of blues, grassy greens, and warm red-brown neutrals add character while maintaining clean, farmhouse-inspired lines. Dedicated spaces support schooling for two children, while an additional guest bedroom offers flexibility for visitors or evolving family needs.

Key areas—including the home office, primary suite, and secondary bedrooms—were thoughtfully styled to feel both functional and welcoming. Furnishings, rugs, and art were sourced from manufacturers such as Hammary, Jonathan Louis, Magnussen Home Furnishings, Riverside, Aspen Home, Surya Carpets, Safavieh, and Uttermost. Finishes and materials were selected to handle the energy of an active household while still feeling intentional and polished. Thoughtful room placement and circulation result in a residence that is durable, well-planned, and comfortably livable for a busy family.
