Spirit Airlines consolidated its operations into a new, LEED-certified campus in Dania Beach, FL, bringing teams together under one unified location. Spanning four buildings and overlooking the Fort Lauderdale airport runway, the headquarters supports collaboration, employee experience, and long-term growth.
Empire partnered with JLL, HuntonBrady and TJNG Partners to support the furniture planning and specification for the multi-building campus across an extended timeline that began in 2021 and concluded with final installation in 2025. Empire provided renderings and conducted spec flips, replacing specified furniture with cost-effective alternatives that maintained the intended aesthetic, while also identifying opportunities to reuse existing inventory to maximize value. During early phases of the project, Empire adapted its process to COVID-era constraints through virtual mock-ups and presentations to support decision-making.
The campus includes cafés and pantries on each floor, lounge and dining spaces, outdoor areas, and away-from-the-desk touchdown zones that give employees flexibility throughout the day. Empire also furnished amenity spaces within the on-site residential building, supporting visiting team members with shared spaces designed for comfort and connection. Furniture solutions included Steelcase and AIS for workstations and offices, Steelcase task seating, and a mix of Steelcase partners, OFS, Global, Jamie Stern Rugs, MooreCo, Grand Rapids Chair, and Sandler Seating for ancillary areas, with Pavilion, Landscape Forms, and Florida Seating used for outdoor furnishings. Empire delivered the project on time and on budget, supporting Spirit’s transition into its new headquarters.
